Hello to all and thanks for any help forwarded.I am Doug McDonald and live in Australia tracing back my family tree. Mr search has arrived in Dublin and would like some help in continuing my search. Here is what I have, with some of the information retrieved from previous posts and related families.

Charles was born around 1835 in Dublin. No official records. No DOB, No mother mentioned. I believe he left Dublin around 1842 with the family for Australia, on board the Barque Dublin. Australian records are from his marriage in NSW.

His father was Archibald a solicitor. His estimated birth is 1812 and died 1840 and buried in Mount Jerome Cemetery along side his sister who died earlier that year.I have used Kingsinn to verify the occupation and they have been very helpful. The office was located in Anne St Dublin with a host of other Solicitors.

I have not been able to find a marriage cert, who his partner was, DOB, or any other info relating to Archibald.

John the father of the above. Birth date around 1789 and was a merchant around Dublin. An address I have, is 10 Wormwood Gate. Dublin, however there are some other addresses around Dublin I have to check.

Again any information on the above would be helpful ,especially if he arrived in Dublin and from where (Scotland?)

John was married twice, his first wife was Ann Murray and they were married about 1809 and she passed away about 1810 (no confirmation on these dates).

Johns second wife was Ann (Annie) Gowan.  Married around 1812. The Gowan family have provided me with some detailed information on Ann (Annie).

Johns marriages consisted of 6 children that I have names for and they are,

Archibald 1812-1840, Anne "Elener"1816-1840, Richard 1817-1858, James 1821-1860, Jane 1824- 1878, Elizabeth 1830-1909.

I also have a death record for a Charles who died at 14 months in 1834 at the Wormwood Gate address. This was found in the Parish records for St. Audoens. Not sure where this fits in.

Any information relating to any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Doug

Doug
