Further info on James would be much appreciated, such as marriage record, birth record, etc. It look like he 'married in' to the Reilly farm - see 1911 Census. 

James McEnroe was born about 1870 and married Ellen Reilly about 1898. Ellen Reilly's mother was Bridget Reilly, born about 1839 in Carnin, Castlerahan.

    Thanks very much for that. The only way I can be sure it's 'my' James McEnroe is to somehow connect him with his wife, Ellen Reilly. There's another James McEnroe born in 1871 to Bartle McEnroe/Kate Cooke; this is more likely to be 'my' James as 'my' James had a son, Bartle. The marriage record of James/Ellen would be very useful, but I can't find it...
