There are unlikely to be many records in Ireland for this family. records for the 1700s are few and far between. You haven’t said what denomination the Blakely family was but I’d guess Presbyterian. Emigration in the 1700s, residence in Co Down and a common Scottish name all point to Presbyterian (which in turn points to Scots origins. The name was quite common in Ayrshire & Kirkcudbrightshire). There are numerous Presbyterian churches in and around Newtownards but unfortunately none has any records for the 1700s so we are unlikely to be able to find any baptisms or marriages for the family.
