Here is a record which agrees with everything except the date (1882): https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1882/02789/2023909.pdf

I am looking for information such as birth/baptism certificates for Anna Lydon and her family.
She was born October 1,1884. Her parents were John Lydon and Honora Corbett Lydon.
She said she was born in Letterfrack or Umgwaa, County Galway, Parish of Ballynakil in the Barony of Ballynahinch.

I agree the parents names are correct but the Month , day and year are wrong. Could the Anna I am looking for be their second child? It appears the name on this record is Anne not Anna.

There is no other Ann/Anne/Anna in that time frame with those parents on irishgenealogy.ie, and there is no 1882-1885 death record for an infant by that name (there is one for a 60-year-old). My own experience with ancestors of that name is that they were variously Anne and Anna, depending on the record. The registrar wrote what he thought he heard. As far as the birth date is concerned, it's possible that the dates were forgotten or approximated at some later point; again based on personal experience, I'm used to seeing more han one alleged birth date for quite a number of my ancestors. My bias is always to believe the record that is most contemporaneous with the event. Good luck sorting this out.

I just posted info about Anna Lydon. just discovered she have to Syracuse NY where i live and married and died here in 1980 at 98. I have been able to contact her still living daughter Margaret Flannery Kress who is now 98 herself!
also 5 of her sisters came to Syracuse and married. One, Catherine, came over before 1910 but after they learned their mother had been burned in a stove fire and being unmarried Catherine returned to Ungwee and i believe there, married James Joyce. She's listed as present at her father's death in 1936 as Kate Joyce and in her own death record in 1951, her son Patrick Joyce in present. she's listed as married to james most 3 have still been living then.wiccantank
