Looking for birth record for Hannah M.J. Counihan....................they were Catholics.
Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in USA
Hannah M.J. Counihan came to the US in 1861, having lied about her age. She went to work as a maid in an inn owned by George M. Potter. He fell in love with her and they married in 1866. She anglecized her maiden name to Anna M. Cunningham. Her exact birth year is unknown, because I haven't been able to find her birth record in Ireland. I have found records for all of her siblings in Catholic records, so I'm now wondering if she was born elsewhere, or if she wasn't the actual child of James Cunningham and Mary Cullity. To be continued..................
