Convict records for Irish transported to Australia | Australia |
Bridget was an Irish Famine Orphanwho was sent to Sydney , Australia on board the Panama at the age of 16 in 1849 from the Tuam Workhouse. Her mother Margaret King remained in the Workhouse, according to the documentation re Bridget her father, Edward King was already dead,
There were 2 borthers, John and Denis King who were tried in Co. Mayo along with the Keane brothers, Roger and John for sheep steeling. All four were transported to Van Deimans Land (Tasmania, Australia ) in 1848. All four from what I have found about them remained friends for the rest of their lives. Am wondering if they were family. These young men s ages were approximately 20 to 30 years.
