Sorry I can't help you on the specific question that you asked but I just wanted to say hello cousin! I descend from Daniel's brother, Michael Rourke. I have not seen the use of O'Rourke for my line. Wish I could help you out.

Hello cousin!! Thank you for your message. I gather you are descended from Michael Rourke and Bridget Rigney. My husband Patrick has a DNA match with Mary Noel who is descended from Catherine Rourke. Mary was able to provide us with photos of our Mary Rourke and her family in Australia.
We were interested in Daniel O'Rourke as his widow and young son Thomas Daniel came to Queensland also. Not sure why some used the Rourke and others the O'Rourke!!
