Dominick McGovern -1851-1951 was my maternal great grandfather. His daughter Rose Ellen was my grandmother. Dominick was born in Newport, son of Thomas McGovern and Sicily Sweeney. He married Mary KeanE/Kane/Cain, also of Newport. Their children were Bridget Delia 1882-1963, Mary Ann (Molly) 1886-1994, Dominick Timothy 1887-1921, John Thomas 1888-?, Rose Ellen 1889-1961, Lawrence 1890-1913, Sabina 1892-1925, and Patrick 1898-1977. Dominick's wife Mary died circa 1910. He married Sarah McManamon 1871-1918? in 1912 or so. She was a widow with several children and together they became parents of Mary Josephine 1913-1913 and Laurence 1915-1975. Dominick, Mary, and Sarah all remained in Ireland.
