My Grandfather, John O'Shea (born 1863, in Kerry) states on his marriage certificate that his parents were John O'Shea and Ellen Lynch both deceased. John O'Shea married my grandmother Susan Rae in Glasgow in 1901. I would love to find anything about my O'Shea/Lynch family. There is a chance that they lived Townland Killoe.
John O'Shea joined the Army as a young boy, it is said that he tried and was too small at first but eventually he got to join. No date or any idea where he served. I have searched Attestation papers on Ancestry but there so many John O'Shea's from Caherciveen that I just don't know enough about him to be certain I have the correct one.
John O'Shea died in Glasgow 1939. Apparently he spoke of growing up in Caherciveen. He also had a sister Mary or Margaret that went to America, and married someone who had a Tanning factory and they made shoes.. I would love to hear from anyone that this rings a bell with.
