Francis/Frank was born in East Galway or Roscommon around 1826. He married Margaret (nee Hearne) McDermott in Peterswell Parish, County Galway on 23 June 1861. Their son, Patrick was born in Gortaudraugan, County Galway on 21 January 1862 while their remaining children were born in Philadelphia after emigrating to America around 1867. Thomas and Margaret lived in Philadelphia until their deaths in 1904 &1925 respectively.
Their daughter, Mary, married Dominic Burke round 1889. Dominic was born in England but his parents were Irish. Maybe coincedently, Frank McDermott's Landloard listed in the Griffiths Valuation for Gortaudraugan and the Townland of Moher was Willian H. Burke. I need to explore this connection.
