I have a Bannon relative - Patrick Bannon who came to the United States - says he was from County Cavan. Do you have your DNA on gedmatch or ancestry? Thanks
I had the Y male test performed on FamilyTree DNA and the autosomal (male and female ancestry) done on Ancestry.
What is your ancestry kit under? I am under jandmmoran66 or gedmatch a412043

My 3x great grandfather, John O'Bannon, along with his wife, Jane nee Whitten/Whitton, immigrated to Canada in 1819 along with their children. John was the Grandmaster of the Orange Society, in and around Shinrone, Ofally. There were numerous attempts on his life, due to the Protestants and Catholics disputes during those days. This is why he fled to Canada and subsequently changed the spelling of their surname to "Beynon" to blend in more with the Scottish and escape persecution. I have Gedmatch #'s to compare to anyone out there, if they like. I do know that John's father's name was Dennis and his mother's name was Elizabeth, nee Wyley or Barnes. I am at a complete brick wall when it comes to this family and would so love to speak with anyone who could help. Thank you in advance
