I do not know his place of Irish origin. But ancestry DNA indicates the following areas: North and NorthWest Kerry, North Cork; Dingle Peninsula; West Roscommon, East Mayo and North Galway. On his death certificate completed by his daughter his parents are listed as Martin Gleason and Margret Brennan. James arrived in the USA in April 1872 on the ship Nemesis out of Cobh [then Queenstown]. He came with his wife Margret Brennan whose parents were John Brennan and Margret Moore.
