My great grandfather John Arthur Gibson born 26 Feb 1862 (son of William Gibson born 1831 and Elizabeth Weily (several spellings) born 1835) was most likely born in Killashee, Longford as were some of his siblings.
William and Elizabeth were married on 12 May 1859 in Rathmolyon, Co Meath.
The only records I can find for the birth of his siblings apply to William Charles Gibson born 1860, James Frederick Gibson born 1869 and Emily Kate Gibson born 5 May 1873 in Co Longford.
Other Ancestry Tree members suggest there are other siblings born in Co Longford namely Edmund Frances born 1863, Robert Ezikial born 1865, Herbert born 1868, Thomas Henry born 1871 but I cannot find proof.
Many of the siblings including my great grandfather John, settled in Australia and are buried here. I have many Australian records and am still searching for more.
I have DNA matches to some of the Gibsons.
I believe they were C of E.
