John Joseph was my Great Uncle! I love the photos, they are the only photos on the Harte family apart from Patrick Harte his brother (my ancestor) that I have seen. Thank you! John Joseph Hart, son of Michael Harte and Bridget Finn of Sraheens, Kilmovee Parish, born 22 May 1859.
Emigrated to America and married Ellen Stack, b. County Cork.
Had 6 children, including my grandfather, John Patrick Hart, who is far right, back row, in this photo.
John Joseph worked several different types of jobs in a cotton mill in Fall River, Massachusetts and eventually was able to purchase a home in Fall River. Several of his sons (Mike and my grandfather John Patrick) became police officers.
