John Monroe was born 30 Jun 1800 in Dromore Parish, County Down, Ireland to William Monroe (1752-1823) and Elizabeth Lilburne (1759-1820) and emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada.
He is believed to be one of seven children; Daniel (1786-1852), Jane (1788-1852), Samuel (1790-1817), William (1795-1867), Mary Ann (1798-1886), and Robert (1803-1847). Daniel, Jane, Samuel, William, and Mary Ann are thought to have remained in Ireland with only John and Robert emigrating to New Brunswick, Canada in 1838.
Birth or baptism records were found for John and all his siblings.
