Margaret Johnston emigrated to Australia in 1856 with some of her siblings, following the deaths of both her parents.

They were sponsored to come to Australia by her aunt (her mother's sister, Susanna/Susan) who had married a man named Charles Murray and emigrated to Australia some years previously.

All the siblings came to Australia at different times.

Margaret married my great-grandfather, George Scarvell, in Bathurst (New South Wales) in 1874.
