Margaret was born in Laois in1834, her parents were Michael Kelly (1803) (Birr, Kings County), the son of Thomas(1778) and Anne? (1779), and Margaret, née Flynn. In 1841 she emigrated to Australia on the ship Forth arriving 28th August with her parents, brothers John(1827), and Patrick (1832) and her sister Mary (1837).
In 1849 Margaret married Andrew Sloan (1808-1858) and had 5 children Jane(1850), Michael(1852), Mary(1853), Margaret(1854) and Andrew(1858).
On 15th October, 1859 she marries Phillip Murphy (1837-1877) and has 7 more children James(1860), John(1852-1866) Philip(1864), John(1867), Annie(1869), Sarah Lillian(1872) and Mary-Anne (1873). On 13th August, 1877 her husband Philip chokes on a piece of meat and dies in a hotel in Young. Mary-Anne (Crummy) is my grandmother.
Margaret died on January 22nd 1918 in Goolagong and is buried in Young
