SISTER MARY PETER RYAN.
At the Convent of Mercy, Monte Sant' Angelo, North Sydney, Sister Mary Peter Ryan passed to her reward on Spy Wednesday. On April 1, while assisting at Holy Mass, Sister had a stroke of paralysis, was anointed immediately afterwards, and lingered until just before Mass on Wednesday, 9th ult., when she breath of her last, surrounded by her sisters in religion,
The remains were taken to the chapel, accompanied by a procession of the Sisters, wearing their cream church cloaks, and carrying lighted tapers. On Holy Thursday morning, Right Rev. Monsignor E. O'Brien, P.P., V.F., gave the Last Absolution, then the funeral proceeded to the Gore Hill Cemetery, where he also recited the prayers. A large number of Sisters at-tended at the graveside, as also did Mr. Thomas Murphy (nephew of the deceased Sister) and Mrs. Murphy. Sister Mary Peter was in the 46th year of her holy profession, and had spent her long and fervent religious life between Monte Sant' Angelo, St. Patrick's, Redfern, and Mosman Convents. — R.I. P.
