Asking for assistance in further search and direction to verifying my gr grandmother’s birthplace. Her birthdate of Jan 1, 1861 was consistent throughout her records during her lifetime in the states, but no mention on the city or county of her birth in Ireland.
I found a baptism record for a Mary Hogan, dated Jan 27,1861 from Ballinrobe county Mayo with parents listed as Michael Hogan and Mary (no last name)
Mary Bridget Hogan emigrated in 1873 and settled in Youngstown Ohio, she married my gr grandfather in Youngstown 20nov1879. His name is Patrick Edward Finn. He emigrated in 1872 . He was born in march/1855 in Nottingham England, his siblings and parents were all born in Ireland and left sometime just before his birth and I’m trying to locate their county as well. Based on my dna results 67%irish, most of it is populated around mayo, Galway area.
