Mary was born in County Clare. Her father was Michael Burns, a farmer. As Mary Byrne, arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on the Hamilia Mitchell in Jan 1859, travelling with her sister, Bridget. This was one of the "Bride Ships". They went to Bunbury on the Wild Wave in April 1859, presumably with their new employers or agents of their employers.
Mary married Thomas Robinson in 1859 and had John Burns, Anna Maria, Bridget and Mary. Thomas died Nov 1864 and she married James O'Donnell in 1865. Children James, Michael, Margaret and William.
Her sister, Bridget married Thomas Fox in 1860 and had Francis Henry the following year. She died 1861.
