My 2xgreat grandmother was Mary Jane Gray.
Mary was born around 1832 and her parents names were Henry and Ellen.
Mary came to Australia as part of the Earl Grey Irish Orphan scheme in 1848 at which time both her parents were described as being deceased.
Mary had been in the Armagh Workhouse almost continuously since 1842 and her older sister Ellen was also an inmate for some of that time.
Mary settled in Moreton Bay, present day Brisbane.
Mary had six daughters with an ex English convict Alexander Dunn between 1852 and 1867.
Mary passed away in 1885.
I am descended from her fifth daughter Rose.

Does anyone know if Mary Jane and Ellen had any other sisters named Rachael/Rachel Gray who married a William Graham. They were living in the Portadown/Seagoe area of County Armagh and had a daughter named Jane Graham who is my 2nd great grandmother She married a Joseph Hawthorn in Portadown November 1876.
I do not have any information on Rachael/Rachel Gray or her parents.
Any information would be gratefully appreciated.

Sorry we still don't know anymore about Mary Jane or Ellen's lives before their admission to the Workhouse. Mary Jane didn't name any of her daughters Rachel but that is no proof that she didn't have an older sister or Aunt by that name. Have you done a DNA test? Send me an email, address is displayed in an earlier post, if you wish to delve more into a possible connection.
