Mary Lacey was born in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland in 1821. She married James Quigley in Ireland and they

subsequently emigrated to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

Later the couple moved to the USA. Their son, James E. Quigley was born in 1860 in Lima, Livingstone County, New York, USA. Still, later they moved to Rochester, Monroe County, New York. 

In addition to *James E. Quigley, they  had four more children: Thomas L. Quigley, Joseph M. Quigley, "Mrs. Norman," and "Sister Vincent de Paul of the Gray Nuns."

Mrs. Quigley passed away in December 1905 and was buried at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
