Michael was born to parents John Mahony( Mahoney) and Margret Foley. There were siblings to Michael as follows: Brother Denis born 1854 who married a Johanna Mahony in Castlegregory. A Jeremiah born 1855 who immigrated to Australia and was married there. A Johanna Mahony born 1864 at Ballytrasna. An Ellen Mahony born 1867 also at Ballytrasna. I have not been able to find a birth record for Michael. He immigrated to New Zealand about 1884. He lived in South Canterbury for a short period, married in Christchurch 1898. He was my Grandfather.
