Married Winifred Tighe or McTighe- written both ways on official documents. Would love any information on the Gallagher's or McTighe's from County Mayo from Parish Kilmaine and Ballinrobe. Would love to know if there were siblings or cousins who did not emigrate.
Lived in Ohio and Kentucky along the Ohio River, in Lawrence County. Both great grandparents' tombstones are at St. Mary's in Lawrence County. They were farmers after coming to the United States.
I will be visiting Ballinrobe in July and it appears there were both surnames (Gallagher and Tighe as occupants just east of Ballinrobe. We are staying in Galway, so we will take a bus ride to Ballinrobe and check out the nearest Catholic Church and see what I can find out.
