Patrick Leydon was the son of Michael Leydon of Sileshaun, farmer (fl.1873) who appeared in Griffiths Valuation of 1855 as Michael "Leydan" of Sileshaun East farm # 4 (along with Martin Leydan and Connor Leydan). Michael also held an additional 33 acres of land at farm #3. John Leydan was in the adjoining farm #6 with 84 acres.
Patrick Leydon married Margaret Monaghan on 21/2/1873. They spoke both Irish and English and appeared in the 1901 Census of Sileshaun.
Ten years later, in the Census of 1911, this couple stated that they were 38 years married (c1873) and had had 6 children (still living, spoke English only). Martin was no longer at home.
