BIRTH
Redmond St John was baptized on April 12, 1815, in the Cashel and Emly Diocese in County Tipperary, Ireland. The baptism took place in the Ballingarry (Slievardagh) Civil Parish in the Ballingarry Catholic Parish. He lived in Earlshill Townland. His parents were John St John and Catherine Maher. His first name was recorded, in the Roman Catholic register, as Edmond. It is not known whether or not he had red hair and was, for that reason, renamed Redmond.

MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES
Redmond married Judith Brien in 1838 near her residence in County Kilkenny. Redmond and Judith settled in Earlshill Townland in County Tipperary and had three children, including John St John, during their marriage. Judith probably died shortly after giving birth to their third child in 1843. Redmond remarried in 1847. Redmond and Margaret Swift had at least two children together. He co-leased two acres with a Thomas St John in Earlshill Townland in County Tipperary according to a report in 1853. Redmond was a Farmer.

DEATH
Redmond St John died a widower in 1883 in Earlshill Townland, Ballingarry (Slievardagh) Civil Parish in Ballingarry Catholic Parish, in County Tipperary.

BURIAL

Redmond was almost certainly buried in South Tipperary near Earlshill Townland where he raised his children and died. Nearby graveyards were associated with churches (Saints Patrick and Oliver, St Mary's, and the Church of the Assumption). Nearby cemeteries were independent and show burials of Roman Catholics in Redmond's lifetime (Lanespark, Ballinalacken, and Crosscannon).
