Robert Joseph Quinlivan was born in Bronx, New York on 21 September 1920 to emigrant parents, Joseph and Marguerite Schmid Quinlivan.
He was a World War II veteran where he served in the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific Theatre and he participated in five invasions including Iwo Jima.
He returned to Norwalk after the War where he met and married Dorothy Halloran. They raised 4 children and Bob was employed as Assistant Treasurer of the Fairfield County Savings Bank and was also a licensed realtor. He died on 21 February 2000 in Norwalk and he is buried in St. John’s Cemetery, West Norwalk.
