OBITUARY.---- On Saturday, the 2nd instant, the residents of Smith's Flat lost a true friend and obliging neighbour in the person of Mrs. Baillie mother of the Messrs. Baillie. The deceased had long suffered from paralysis, from which she could not get any relief until death put an end to her troubles in her 71st year. Mrs. Baillie came to the colony, about 15 years ago, a widow, accompanied by several of her family, and for some years resided on the Manning River. The last 9 years of her life she has been on Smith's Flat living with some of her family. Her remains were conveyed to the Presbyterian cemetery Smith's Flat, on Sunday, the population turning out 'en masse' to pay her the last earthly tribute of respect which man can pay to departed humanity.
