Simon Kerins (or Kerin) was born in 1895 to parents John and Mary (maiden name Keane or Kane) Kerins (sometimes spelled Kearin) in County Kerry. He emigrated to New York from Ireland in 1925 and was married to Ellen. He died, sadly, in 1935 while his brother Denis was on his way to New York to visit him from Boston.
