Thomas Joseph Hart was born in 1841 and is the only surviving triplet of John and Mary O'Connell Hart. He died in 1915 in Ballyhaunis "The Black Valley", Townland of Meeltrane, Parish of Aghamore/Knock, Barony of Costello, County of Mayo, Ireland. Thomas was married twice. His first wife, Mary Martha Murtagh was born 1852 and they married on 21 Dec 1868. They had seven children together, John William b. 1870 (immigrated to New York, USA and settled in Fredonia, NY), Michael b. 1872, Thomas b. 1875 (died at a young age in Ireland from a disease something like gigantism), James b. 1877 (immigrated to England), Patrick Joseph b. 1879 (my husband's grandfather immigrated to England, back to Ireland, and then Buffalo, New York USA), Bridget b. 1882 (immigrated to USA), and Mary b. 1883 (died giving birth to her 6th child). Mary Martha Murtagh Hart (1st wife) died during childbirth when Mary was born.
His second wife was Catherine Morley Tarpey b. 1857. They married on 30 June 1884 and also had seven children; Margaret Adele Hart b. 1885 (immigrated to USA, became ill and travelled back to Ireland where she died), Bernard b. 1887, William b. 1889, Mary Kate b. 1891, Anna Teresa b. 1894, Elizabeth Mary b. 1896, another Thomas, b. 1898.
The 1901 census shows Thomas' occupation as a farmer.
