Migrated to/Born in Australia

Thomas Phelan together with his brother Bryan was convicted in 1828 of cattle maiming. The prosecutor was their cousin also called Thomas Phelan. Their sentence of death was commuted to transportation for life to Australia in 1829.  Others convicted and transported at the same time were Michael Kerwick, Edward Kerwick,  James Martin and Jerimiah Dwyer. The crime took place in Shevry and the prosecuting cousin owned/occupied a farm at Curragnatini. I am sure that there are also links to Phelans at Curraghduff.
