My great great grandmother was born to John Regan and Judith Sweeny in Knickanan ( so? ), co cork in 1920. She married William Lenahan/Linehan and lined in Ballybeg then eventually moved to USA. Perhaps look in Rootsireland for Thomas.

Thomas Was born in Ireland in 1810, married Brigit Murphy (born in 1830) in Buttevant. Their son John was baptised there in September 1845.
Emigrated to the United States.
Another son was born in 1847, Cornelius.
Brigit died and Thomas married a widow who was my great grandmother.
I do not know where Thomas was born, one hint may be John was born in May, but not baptised in September.

My great grandfather was Charles Regan from Bandon born in 1876. The census tracks him to Buttevant. I wonder is there a link?
