Is it still in existence in Antrim?  I heard there was a pub there by that surname.  Would love a pic of it and maybe the owners as well.  Curious if they are relatives.

Thanks!

  • There are an awful lot of pubs in Co. Antrim. However I am not aware of one named Deehan’s. Of course there might be one owned by a Deehan but trading under a different name. That would be harder to find. Googling it doesn’t come up with any suggestions though.

Deehan is not a common name in Antrim. Searching the 1911 Irish census, there wasn’t anybody of that name born in the county at all. (There was just 1 Deehan family but that was a police officer from Co. Derry).

  • There is a Deehan pub in Derry city but it is spelt O'Diochan's, (Gaelic). Deehan is a popular name in and around Derry but also in Sligo, Lough Talt, Aclare,  and also in Easkey and Culleens, Co.Sligo.

I understand O'Diochan's bar in Derry is very nice and well worth a visit.

    Good Luck in your search.
