Hello!
I've just joined this group as I have ancestors who emigrated from Kilskyre to the USA in 1800's. I've found baptism records for many of them in Kilskyre records online and a few in Oldcastle.
My great-great-grandfather was William Martin born @1819 (have not found his record yet) and his wife was Catherine McGee/Magee born 1828.
If anyone in the group knows of other sources I should check or might even be a distant relative, I hope to hear from you.

Fran,
There is a Michael Martin in the Tithe Applotments record for 1825 in Oldcastle.
No record found for Tithe Records in the parish of Kilskyre/Kilskeer.

McCoy

Fran:
The subscription site Roots Ireland has a February 15 1822 baptismal record for a William Marten in Oldcastle RC church. Parents Edward Marten and Mary Gilson.
There was also a December 19 1826 baptismal record for a Catherine Magee with parents Patrick Magee and Betty Neill. The record was in Kilskyre RC parish.
Did not find a marriage record.

Thanks for the replies!
McCoy - Thanks for posting the record from the tithe records. I don't know of a Michael Martin in our family tree - could be a cousin. There are a lot of Martin's.
Roger McDonnell - Thanks for checking Roots Ireland. I also have a subscription and have checked that site multiple times. The 1826 record for Catherine Magee is one I saved previously from the Catholic parish registers site and seems likely to be her. We do know that William's parents were Owen Martin and Catherine Donahoe or Donaghue, so that Oldcastle bapstism is not him. We've found some of his siblings in the Kilskyre records but not his. William and Catherine were married in the USA and I have the record of that.
Continuing my search for William Martin's birth record and his parents...
