hello, i am looking for my great grandmothers family. she was catherine mitchell
b1st of may 1852. her parents were patrick mitchell and catherine quinn. she may have come from roo but on her marriage cert. it said tiernievan. she married william carr in gort.the 8th of feb. 1877. i would like to know if anyone knows anything about this family, if she had any brothers or sisters. i do know her and william were alive on the 1911 census. thank you doreen

Hi Doreen, looking at old queries and see the baptism as you describe on the 2nd May 1852, parish records for the area baptisms only commence in 1848 and marriages in 1853 see https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0623 so we may miss some years of children. The only other record I see is a Patrick born 6th Feb 1856 but better addesss, Tearneerin, Kilmacduagh (Gort) so you have a townland,

There are a number of private Galway Genealogy Facebook pages if you wanted to join and see if anyone there is tracing your family also.
