My GG was a Grennan from Kilbeggan. Her youngest sister Emily married a Cooney. I found a photo taken at a studio in Tullamore. Probably 1910-1920. A long shot, but hoping to identify those in the photo! Not sure how to add the photo here though. (I added the photo under Ancestors on the site.)

Hi TEI, you could try the Westmeath Genealogy group on Facebook and also see if there is an Offaly one too, (formely Kings County) in 1910/11.

Thanks Pat - the FB group was helpful. I ended up finding the granddaughter of the Joseph Cooney who had the same picture!
I am now going to look into my GG Grandfather (his father-n-law.)

It's so magical that we can find the connection between our ancestors. That's what my project is about: I plan to travel around the state and look for families from Ireland. To do this, I've already assembled equipment (a mirrorless camera from here). My photography project will include native Irish people born after World War II (since it scattered many people to different parts of the world). I'd like to put them together like a puzzle in my project!
