Does anyone have ant information or picture of Patrick & Ann McBride before leaving to Immigrate to Adelaide South Australia. They travelled on the Ship 'Omega' with their 5 children.

Annie,
I would be very surprised if anyone had a photograph of the couple from 1846. Photography was in its infancy in those days, and I very much doubt it had reached rural Tyrone. (There was a photographer in Belfast in the 1840s but I can’t find any other reference to photographers elsewhere in Ulster at the time).

Do you have a specific townland for the family, from their children’s baptism perhaps or from a death certificate in Australia?

Thank You Elwyn for you reply. I did feel that it was a wild card ! But stranger things have happened on the trial of the Ancestors!
The records for their children birth/baptism gives the Parish of Tirnaskea Parish/district Errigal Kieran, County Tyrone. I have keyed in the Parishmentioned but to no avail.
Annie
Hallo Elwyn, a late reply to say thank you for your mid January reply to my above question. I appreciate your assistance as always.

Tirnaskea is the name of the townland where they lived. (319 acres). It’s in the parish of Errigal Keerogue. You can see where it is using the maps on the Griffiths Valuation site:
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=placeSearch
There are 2 townlands named Tirnaskea in Tyrone so be sure to click on the one in Errigal Keerogue.
Looking at the tithe applotment records for 1832/3 I can see 5 McBride farms listed in the townland, including a Patrick. Tithes were a land tax, so these are people with land. Farmers rather than labourers. Only the head of hosuehold is listed:
http://www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/errigal_keerogue.html
Looking at Griffiths Valuation for 1860 I can see 4 McBride farms there. Plot 3 was tenanted by Arthur and Mary McBride (unlikely to be husband and wife). 28 acres; plot 7 (just under 2 acres) by Owen McBride; plot 8 (16 acres) by James and plot 10 (10 acres) by Peter McBride. They are probably all related.
Plot 3 today is on the Whitebridge Rd, the other 3 are off the Martray Rd. That’s a couple of miles north of Ballygawley.
You can follow the individual properties forward up to 1929, using the revaluation records on the PRONI site:
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/proni
In the 1901 census there were 2 McBride farms in the townland:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tyrone/Ballygawley/Tirnaskea/1724748/
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tyrone/Ballygawley/Tirnaskea/1724746/
Likewise 1911:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Tyrone/Ballygawley/Tirnaskea/854632/
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Tyrone/Ballygawley/Tirnaskea/854635/
I found 1 probate abstract for a McBride from Tirnaskea (who died intestate):
McBride John of Tirnaskea county Tyrone farmer died 6 November 1927 Administration Londonderry 19 December to Ceciliea Harris married woman. Effects £88 10s.
I can see 2 McBride properties on the Whitebridge Rd in the current phone book. The numbers suggest they are beside each other. See:
DNA testing might confirm if they are related to you.

Hello Anne,
I beleive the townland your ancestors came from was Innisative in the parish of Carrickmore.
Fr. Peter Kerr, a native of that townland land published a history of the townland, the Hollywood and Kelly families are listed in it. It should be available on the internet.
If you search the parish birth/ marriage registers in Carrickmore you will find them.
