My Fathers maternal Grandparents were James and Jane Barker [nee Cassidy] they were married in Armagh on the 25th April 1854 and migrated to South Australia in Oct of that year.Is it possible for me to obtain a marriage certificate and from where could I get it.

If anyone can help with any further information I would greatly appreciate it.

I have enjoyed browsing your site which i have just discovered.

Many thanks, Davina.

Civil registration did not begin in Ireland until 1864 so you would not be able to get a civil marriage record. If you knew the Church, you could contact them to see if they would give you a record of the marriage assuming they still had the records from 1854.
