The surnames above are a collection of some of my grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great grandparents who were born in Ireland in the early 1800's and emigrated to Canada at various times. I have only become serious about our roots as my family grows up...as with many families surnames and history has got lost with death, remarriages and emigration...

Richard Hughes born circa 1890, married Ann McQuaid. They had a son Thomas b. circa 1818. They emigrated to Canada in 1819 and ended up settling in Birr, Middlesex, Ontario. Son Richard was born either on board ship or upon arrival in Quebec. I assume his fathers name was Thomas and her mother possibly Mary Ann. Need to try to determine parish in Ireland.
