The Plunkett's were from Armagh I'm told. I'm looking for the townland, parish of Michael Plunkett, son of Michael Plunkett (b. abt 1808) and Catherine Dempsey. Michael was born about Nov of 1840. He had siblings Joseph, Peter, Sarah and Eliza(beth?). I'm told the family emigrated from Ireland and went to Scotland. Michael is 21 in the 1861 Scotland Census. What sources should I research to find this family and confirm they came from Armagh?

Hello colleen,
You might try www.rootsireland.ie which has most of the parish records for the country and the www.irishenealogy.ie which has most of the rest. Start broad , just put in one name and date and gradually refine the options.
Try also www.familysearch.org
