Please help me find ancestial records of my grandfather Michael Kennedy who left Ireland in 1848 on the Ship: New World and arrived in New York, USA on 23 Sep 1848. He was born in 1835 and was 13 years in 1848. The ships records state that his occupation was immigrant and there were 444 passengers aboard, with his compartment being listed as Steerage. A family Identification number was 1165754, microfilm serial number M237 roll number 75 which I could not locate. I did however find that there were 27 Michael Kennedy's in Ireland with a year of birth of 1835, most that were in Munster. Is it possible to find a list of Michael Kennedy's that can be accounted for or possibilities to find the correct County of his birth.

Please see the link http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlker/mardingle4.html. It is a good website.
