Hello Joanne, the couple mentioned had two children in Holycross, Tipperary, neighbours Cork and Limerick but not that close as they are big counties, William 1836 mother is Anne Gorman, again William in 1840, indicates earlier child died but mother now Alicia Gorman. There is another Gorman / Godfrey child but the father is a William and mother Anne Gorman, again in Holycross, year 1837.
There is also an Edmund Godfrey marrying a Mary Ryan in Thurles, Tipperary in 1837 so a few of them about.
