In the 1901 Census myPatrick McEvoy  is in Cullenagh married to Mary Doody with several children but I can find no further info on this family. I have them married in `1871 in Abbeleylix.

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

As you say, Patrick and Mary were married on 19-Feb-1871 in the parish of Ballinakill, Co. Laois. Patrick McEvoy was a Shepherd, aged 30 when he married.

His father was Martin and hers was Patt. Patrick lived in the townland of Cullenagh and Mary in the townland of Raheenduff. There are 2 children listed for this couple; Mary Ann baptised 01-Sep-1872 and Bridget born on 19-Jun-1874 - no further children are listed.

There is no Martin McEvoy listed in the Griffith's Valuation but a few other McEvoys are recorded:

    Hope this helps
