Looking for any infomation about Campion siblings

Edward b. 1816

Laughlin (Lott) b. 1826?

Mary b. 1826  m. James Clear

Daniel b. 1830

Immigrated together via Liverpool to New York in 1849 and finally settled in Cedar Lake, Minnesota.

All married in the United States.  No information on parents or other siblings.  The only information that leads me to Co. Loais is the occurance of the surname Campion.

  • Hi Laura,

It's very difficult to find records without at least one parents name.  I would suggest that you go through the family history over there and list the names of all the children of Edward , Laughlin, Mary and Daniel.

If there are one or two names that are common to some of them, then I would go to www.rootsireland and search their records using these names as parents.

e.g. search for the baptismal record for Mary Campion, father ?(use one of the names common to the siblings children)

See if you get any records showing up in the indexes.   Take not of the date and county for which you may get a hit.

Then do the same for the other 3 siblings.

This is a matter of cross referencing and will take a little bit of time and effort.  The searches themselves are free once you register.  You are allowed a few free.  It's only when you want to view a particular record that it would cost you €5.

I really think this is worth doing as at that time almost all children were called after their grandparents.

    Kind regards,

    Anne Dennehy
