Searching for ancestors or information relating to James Woods.
Born circa 1814 in Laois (Queens) County but have no parish for him, d: 1877 Nelson New Brunswick Canada. He had 2 brothers, Thomas and Michael. All 3 migrated (separately) to Canada mid 1830s. James married Ann Cosgrove (b: 1817) in Laois and migrated in 1844 with their (?) daughter Catherine(b 1841).

Have you had a look at familysearch.org or rootsireland.ie to see if you can find any record of James and Ann?
On the latter site for example, there is one baptism record for a James Woods born between 1810 and 1820. This is a subscription site, so I am limited in what I can see. As there is only one record, it might be a good idea to have a look. I think it costs ?5 to view a record. One thing to consider though, is that we do not know James? parents? names so it would be difficult to say for sure if this is your James or not. They may have both been born and married in a parish and at a time that predates the parish records.
