My 2x great grandfather Michael McCue was born in 1836. According to a Rootsireland search he was born in County Laois to his father Michael McCue and mother Mary Dolan. I don't know what parish or locale. I don't know where to find info on siblings ? I believe he had a sister Julia born in 1834. Can anyone help me with informatiion ?.

The record is in the Portarlington RC records. I found a Judy McCue in 1828 in Portarlington born to Michael and Mary.

There were five other McCue children born to Michael and Mary. McCue from 1828-1844. Without first names, I was unable to verify if the records were in Portarlington.

Roots is a pay site to view a transcription of a church record.

  • I believe the Portarlington RC record is the one I am seeking for my 2x great grandfather Michael McCue.

I got an email that said Michael McCue (born between 1804- 1810) married Mary (born in 1808)  on August 28, 1825 at St. Michael's Church  I don't know Mary's maiden name for sure. One note says her name was Mary Dunne, another says is was Mary Dolan. ? Can you check the church record on this ?

Are any witnesses or relatives listed ?

It also said Michael died in the autumn of 1845.  Where would I find burial info on Michael ?

In 1846 Mary emigrated to Ossining, NY  with 4 of her 7 or 8 children. The children that emigrated were Maria, Julia (born 1834), Michael (born March 1836) and Jeremiah (born 1841-43)..I also have the names of Edward and Richard as possible additonal children ?  Do these children match the ones you found in the church record you mentioned ?

In the 1860 US Census,Mary McCue appears in Ossining, NY as a servant in the household of Edward and Mira Moran with her daughter Julia (born 1834) and son Michael (born 1836).

Thanks for any additional help you can provide ?  Mary McCue Greene

I can't get any more information on the McCues without paying for it. You would need to get a subscription to Roots to se what details are available.

It is unlikely that burial info exists for someone who died in 1845.
