Michael Phelan born Montrath September 29, 1831, which is on his tombstone in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston, NY. He immigrated to Kingston,New York, USA possibly prior to 1850 with siblings Mary Cahill, Catharine Welsh, Margaret Conroy, Alexander, Elizabeth Cunningham and Bridget. Although they may have all come over separately.
I think their parents were Alexander Phelan and Catharine Cavanaugh. I'm still trying to verify that.
Michael married Bridget Doran and had 12 children in Kingston, NY.
Michael is my great-great grandfather. I would be interested in hearing from anyone in the Phelan line.

There is a baptism record of Michael Phelan 1 Oct 1831 in Montrath R C parish, Laois on www.rootsireland.ie/ (a subscription site)
Parents are Michael Phelan & Mary Toole
There is also a record 1 Sep 1832 with parents Alexander Phelan & Catherine Cavanagh
