We normally do not have a lot of messages related to specific DNA data. It might be helpful if you listed the surnames related to your Offaly and Meath ancestry.

Hi Dominic,
If you haven't already joined the Offaly genealogy and DNA facebook group, it might be worth your while https://www.facebook.com/groups/437202206892945
You may find some matches that help you work through the brick walls in your family tree.
Best wishes,

Hi haplogroup T2e is majority Spanish Moroccan or Iberian Sephardic Jewish who did mix with Ashkenazi Jews. There was a Sephardic Jewish community in Cork until roughly 1850. The fled from Spain after the 1492 expulsion and inquisition.

Hi Dominic,
I'd forgotten that I replied to you over a year ago. Coincidentally, over the weekend I found some contributions that a Dominic Rice (you?) had made to the Offaly IGP website with a DNA match of my aunt and his cousin who are descendants of Patrick Rice of Eglish (Dowras/Whigsborough) who married Mary Culleton. One of them had already been in touch with you/that Dominic. It's a small world!
Best wishes,

Hi Dominic,
No, not a descendant of Patrick's. Based on match size and my own research, I suspect it pre-dates surviving Eglish parish records. I think the connection is with a Dooley family related to mine. There was reportedly a marriage between a William Rice and a Judy Dooley in 1820 in Eglish (I suspect Patrick descends from this marriage). There was also a Timothy Rice and his wife Catherine nee Dooley who baptised several children in the parish, although I cannot find a marriage for them. Dooleys also feature as key players in a number of Rice christenings and possibly marriages, from what I remember.
Best wishes,
Tara
