Thomas Henry Burgess b. abt 1850 married Margaret Wilson at Eglish parish church on 13 Nov 1873. Margaret was born on 1 April 1855 at Markethill, Co Armagh. I am endeavouring to trace Thomas's mother. His father was also Thomas born abt. 1825. Thomas Henry was a ropemaker who later moved to Belfast

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking for Thomas? birth records in order to find some information on his mother? His parents? marriage record would also be helpful. Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may be useful to you is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. To see what is available in Eglish parish follow this link:
For Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. The Anglican Record Project is has created an index to their records: http://ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/AngRecord/bunclodyunionindex.pdf
The Public Records of Northern Ireland (PRONI) hold copies of all surviving Church of Ireland registers for the dioceses of Armagh, Clogher, Connor, Derry, Dromore, Down, Kilmore and Raphoe.

You could also try doing a search for these record at www.familysearch.org This is a huge database of genealogical records compiled by the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
www.rootsireland.ie also have a huge collection of church records however please note that you have to pay to view these.
Some other websites which you may find helpful in your research include:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
