Seeking information on birth, marriage and ancestors of Patrick Doyle and Spouse Mary Ann Walsh. Son Phillip Joseph 1878-1929. They lived in Tullamore. I can't find any other information pre dating their children. Thank you

  • Margaret:

I searched two subscription sites and did not find the marriage in Ireland or the UK.  Looks like their were six children including Philip. Did the family emigrate?

    Margaret,

Further to the previous messages, I found this marriage record on irishgenealogy,ie. This seems to be the relevant record, which shows his father as Patrick (who was dead), and his father-in-law a pawnbroker. A further search on the subscription site rootsireland.ie shows a Patrick Doyle with father Patrick baptised at Lemanaghan parish in 1840. This is the only suitable record in Offaly. Margaret Daly was his mother. This record would indicate that Mary Anne may have been from Longford, as it was traditional for a marriage to take place in the parish of the bride.

    Best wishes, Kieran
